{ Finally understand the reason behind my long hibernation hours }
Well it is not uncommon that I sleep at, when I say sleep at I mean like 12 hours every night. 9:25 PM • Sunday, January 24, 2010
Well I dun get that kind of quality rest when I was in SG except on days off or whatever, but then this winter had been surprisingly fulfilling in terms of my sleeping hours.
I have been in bed at 10 almost every night and gets up at about 10 or 11 everyday when there are no lessons.
Finally, I understood the reason behind my long "snake" hibernation hours.
You see, during winter, you get sun rise at say 8 or 8.30 and then sun sets at 4pm. So there are long hours where we are exposed to the sun, or day time here since there is practically no sun shine.
However, this comes down to my theory of long hibernation during winter. Our body produces this hormone call Melatonin, which aids in the sleep wake cycle. So when its night time, presumbly then there is an absence of natural sun light, ur body produces melatonin, to help u get to sleep.
so this explains why I get tired at 5pm and sleeps for 12 hours every day not wanting to wake up.
Its becos of Melatonin.
People with sleep problems can get this off the shelf at ur nearby pharmacy
Cheerioss.
